Deed for 200 acres to the Farmers' High School of Pennsylvania, 1857 August 4.

James Irvin of Bellefonte, Pa., sold 200 acres of land to the Farmers' High School of Pennsylvania for one dollar. He had donated 200 acres in 1855; together these 400 acres of Centre Furnace land are the core of the Penn State campus. The deed was recorded 6 November 1857; and recorded in the Centre County, Pa., Deed Book V, p. 20, on 19 September 1859. This copy was certified as a true and exemplified copy by deputy recorder Theodore Muffly.

James Irvin managed the Milesburg Iron Works in Centre County with Joseph Green, Andrew Gregg and John M. McCoy. They managed under the titles James Irvin & Co., Irvin, Gregg & Co., and Irvin, McCoy & Co.. In 1859 Irvin moved to Philadelphia to manage the McCoy & Linn iron store.
